Vince Smith

Vince Smith is our pastor. He has a heart to lead God’s people to live a missionary life whether that is across the street or across the globe. From his first day at Cross Pointe he has kept Acts 1:8 in front of us: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” He teaches the church that the way we “Point people to new life in Jesus Christ” is to live a missionary life. He works to model that for us from the work the church is involved with in the city, to leading short-term mission trips around the world.
While the church is important to him, he places his family ahead of his work. He and his wife Kimberly have been married since 1989. They have two children, Robyn (18) and Will (16).

Pastor Vince has been in ministry more than fifteen years. While in seminary he served in associate pastor roles in Naples, Italy, Columbia, SC and Grapevine, TX. He was senior pastor at Travis Oaks Baptist Church near Austin, TX from 2000-2006, when he and his family accepted the call to Cross Pointe Baptist Church. Vince served in many associational, state and national denominational roles as well.
He has a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a B.S. Management from Tulane University, a Certification in Nuclear Propulsion Engineering from the U.S. Navy (he served as a submarine officer from 1988-1996) and is pursuing a Doctorate in Ministry from Sioux Falls Seminary.

Ben Cochran

Ben serves as the Youth and Worship Pastor at Cross Pointe Baptist Church. Ben moved to Sioux Falls in March of 2007, after graduating with his degree in Physical Education from College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. He has been serving in this position since August of 2008. He lives in Sioux Falls with his wife Annie.

Daniel Murillo

Daniel sirve como Pastor asociado en Cross Pointe Baptist Church, donde se tiene una Iglesia dos idiomas y regularmente predica en español cada domingo.
Daniel y Diana vienen de Juárez México, de donde son graduados del Instituto Bautista Noroeste; en Cd. Juárez estuvieron trabajando por 8 años en su anterior Iglesia, ellos tienen 4 hijos tres varones y una niña recién nacida; los nombres de sus hijos son: Daniel Hasem, Jared Emanuel, Joel Esteban y Jamie Abigail.
El pastor Daniel y su familia llegaron a los Estados unidos en Junio del 2007 y ya tienen trabajando en Cross Pointe en Español 3 años……… Actualmente tienen como ministerios en la Iglesia: Servicios dominicales a las 10:15 am y 6:30, estudio bíblico los miércoles 7:30 pm, discipulado bíblico los viernes 6:30 pm, velada de oración el primer viernes de cada mes, reunión de mujeres un sábado al mes y reunión de varones también un sábado al mes.

Stephanie Kurbis

Stephanie serves as the Director of Children’s Ministry as an intern. She grew up in Hazen, ND and graduated from Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND in 2009 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. In August 2009 she started the M.Div program at Sioux Falls Seminary with an emphasis in Intercultural Studies. Beginning in March 2010, Stephanie joined Cross Pointe as an intern in Children’s Ministry. In July of 2010 she began as the Ministerial Assistant and Director of Children’s Ministry. In August of 2011 she stepped back to only volunteer with her favorite part of Cross Pointe! Kids and Families. In October 2011 she married Tim Kurbis, a fellow servant of our Lord.
